Batman Logos - Part 2

I know this was a while back, but I was looking at your cleanup, and it got me thinking. You did a great job on the cleanup/slight redesign, but I had a central question.
Is there something that gets lost in making the image (the lettering as well as the bat-like cape) symmetrical? There seems to be two things going on here: first off, the cape/bat in the original image is slightly asymmetrical, and of course, secondly, the lettering is angled with a larger cap on the “B” than the rest of the lettering. I’m trying to wrap my head around the “new” version you created, and I’m wondering if the same-sized caps and the symmetry of the cape makes it look “too perfect”?
